Katie H., MT-BC
Music Therapy Director
Katie joined the BST team in September 2019 and was named the director in August 2021. She earned her bachelors degree in music therapy from Illinois State University in Normal, IL and completed her internship working with older adults and hospice patients in Port Angeles, WA. Katie worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and military families in Kansas City, MO before making the move to South Bend. Katie is a classically trained trumpet player with a diverse history of performance experiences.

Katelyn D., MT-BC
Music Therapist
Katelyn has been with BST since September 2017. She completed coursework for her Music Therapy Equivalency at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Before joining BST, she finished her internship at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan where she worked in both the pediatric and neonatal intensive care units. Katelyn has experience with a wide range of populations and diagnoses, including mental illness, developmental disabilities, and physical disabilities.

Kate M., MT-BC
Music Therapist and Music Therapy Internship Site Director
Kate joined our team in April 2018 and took on the additional duty of being a Music Therapy Internship Site Director for BST’s AMTA national roster internship program in April 2020. She received her degree in Music Therapy at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Before joining BST, she finished her internship at Milwaukee Center For Independence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she worked with both adults with developmental delays and children with severe medical needs. Kate has experience with a wide range of populations but enjoys working with children with disabilities the most. A fun fact about Kate is she played and coached lacrosse for EMU for 4 years!

Kristin MT-BC
Music Therapist
Kristin joined BST in May of 2023 after completing her 6 month internship with us and becoming board certified. Kristin is from Albany, IN and received her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University from Marion, Indiana. Kristin has experience working with children and adults with intellectual and developmental delays, elderly with Alzheimer’s in nursing homes, and working with preschoolers and middle schoolers in Life Skills classes.

Meghan MT-BC
Music Therapist
Meghan completed her internship in December of 2022. She became board-certified and joined the team in January 2023. Meghan is originally from Tiffin, Ohio and received her Bachelor of Music Therapy from The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio. Meghan has experience working with elderly with Alzheimer's and Dementia in nursing homes, adults in psychiatric care, teens in a behavioral setting, and all ages with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Meghan is classically trained in voice but learned guitar and piano in college to use in music therapy sessions.

Kayla, MT-BC
Music Therapist
Kayla joined the team in August 2023 after completing her 6-month internship here and becoming board certified. She is originally from Dallas, TX but graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI.
Kayla has experience working with preschoolers and middle schoolers in a special education setting, older adults in an assisted living facility, and individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Kayla is a classically trained violinist with a variety of performance experience.

Kathryn, MT-BC
Music Therapist
Kathryn completed her internship here at BST and joined the team in September 2023. She is originally from Elmhurst, Illinois and received her Bachelor of Music from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Kathryn has experience working with children with sensory perception disorder, adults with Alzheimer's, adolescents with emotional impairment, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kathryn is a classically trained flutist, but learned guitar and piano for music therapy sessions.

Kayla, MT-BC
Music Therapist
Kayla completed her internship in December 2024. She became a board-certified music therapist in January 2025, and joined the team in February 2025. Kayla is originally from Chesterton, Indiana, and received her Bachelor of Music Therapy from Loyola University New Orleans in New Orleans, Louisiana. Kayla has experience working with teens and adults in mental health settings, as well as individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Kayla is classically trained in voice, and has experience with both guitar and piano as well.
